STATESBORO, GA. – Georgia Southern Baseball is back in action on Wednesday night to face in-state foe Mercer. First pitch for the second game this season against the Bears is set for 6 p.m. Georgia Southern bested Mercer 11-10 on March 15th and closes a five-game homestand in a game that can be seen live on GS All-Access.
Danny Reed and
Kris Draper will be on hand to call the action for both games on the Georgia Southern Sports Network from Learfield Sports.

QUICK HITS• Georgia Southern Baseball faces Mercer for the second time this season on Wednesday night as the Bears come to J.I. Clements Stadium. The Eagles defeated the Bears 11-10 in a Middle Georgia Thriller.
• Georgia Southern ranks fifth nationally in sacrifice bunts with 40 this season. CJ Brazil and
Evan McDonald each rank fourth nationally with 10 sacrifices each.
CJ Ballard ranks 41st in the nation with seven bunts.
• Georgia Southern's pitching staff is one of the best in the league, ranking first in hits allowed (6.92) and fifth in the nation. The Eagles are 19th in WHIP with a 1.18 rating.
• The Eagles took the middle game of last weekend's UL Lafayette series, downing the No. 26 Cajuns 3-2 just 24 hours after dropping a 10-inning game to ULL.
• Georgia Southern is fifth in the Sun Belt Standings after reaching the midway point in the league season. The Eagles are 7-8 on the year, just behind Little Rock and 1.5 games up on this weekend's foe, UT Arlington who sits seventh in the standings.
• For Georgia Southern, the magic number is six. The Eagles are 12-1 this season when scoring six or more runs. Over the past five season the Eagles are a combined 104-18 including 31 wins in 2014.
EAGLES WITHSTAND LATE CHARGE AT MERCER• Georgia Southern held on to take an 11-10 win over the high-powered Mercer offense. The Eagles overcame four fielding errors and hit two home runs in the game.
• Seven Eagle pitchers combined for a season-high 11 walks.

Evan McDonald went 3-for-4 in the game with his first Division I home run.
EAGLES PARTNER WITH VS. CANCER FOUNDATION• Georgia Southern hosted its second Vs. Cancer Day on April 3rd, raising funds and awareness for the Vs. Cancer Foundation to help combat children's cancer.
• The Eagles surpassed their goal of raising $8,000 for the foundation by gathering more than $11,000.

IN THE CLASSROOM• The Georgia Southern baseball team posted a 3.25 GPA in the fall semester, its highest semester GPA in program history.
• 28 of the Eagles were on the honor roll with 12 on the Dean's List and 3 on the President's List.
