The Eagles lose 4-0 to the nearly undefeated Tigers
AUBURN, Ala.- Saturday evening, No.36 Auburn dealt the Georgia Southern women's tennis team a tough loss, beating them 4-0.
Despite winning the doubles point the past four matches, the Eagles were unable to snag the 1-0 advantage at the Yarbrough Tennis Center. No.2 doubles duo Giulia Riepe and Francisca Norregaard fell 6-0 followed by No.1 pair Lindsay Truscott and Mariana Ranzahuer, who lost 6-2 to the 38th-best doubles team in the nation.
In singles, the Blue and White were unable to get on the board, although freshman Shannon Wagner was up 6-3 at the No.6 spot. The match was called off due to the now 11-1Tigers' clinch. Riepe won three games total against nationally-ranked Andie Dikosavljevic (who sits at No.27 in the country). That match too was left unfinished at 6-1, 5-2.
