The storyline
Round 2

Shinn, who teed off on hole 10, got off to a hot start and played her first five holes at 2-under. The freshman was even as she made the turn to the front nine and added a birdie on hole 3. After a few bogeys, she birdied the par-3 8th hole for a 73. Swords posted 11 pars and a birdie in her round, and a couple of double bogeys kept her from going lower. Thompson stayed away from the big numbers and tallied 11 pars.
Round 1
Shin opened her round with three straight pars and parred six out of her last seven holes coming in. Swords tallied four straight pars to open her round and played her last seven holes at 1-over.
Bowman posted seven straight pars to finish her round, and Hvass played her first six holes at 1-over.
Quotable from Coach Emily Kuhfeld
"I saw a lot of great shots and solid course management out there today. The girls kept up their focus and strength for 36 rainy holes today, and we are in good shape headed into the final round tomorrow. We achieved a few 'firsts' today: Both rounds we had 4-of-5 players shoot in the 70s, and our afternoon round of 304 is our lowest competitive round so far."
Next Up
The Eagles play the third and final round tomorrow in a shotgun start. Georgia Southern is paired with Gardner-Webb and Elon and will tee off on holes 4-6.
