"It's a great event for us because we get to bring six guys and play the course we're going to be playing in April," said Georgia Southern coach Carter Collins. "It gives us a fresh look at what we'll see in the spring and it gives our new guys a chance to go see it and play it. Plus, we get an opportunity to see where we are as a team compared to the rest of the league."
The Eagles have won two of their last three tournaments and are coming off a team title at The Invitational at The Ocean Course Sept. 12. Georgia Southern shot a 290 on the final day of competition.
In his debut tournament as an Eagle, junior transfer Cody O'Toole (-4) finished second in the individual standings, one stroke behind medalist William Rainey (-5) of College of Charleston.
