Ansley Bowman - First tournament
After playing in the first tournament in program history a week ago, Georgia Southern is back in action at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate, hosted by East Carolina.
"We are excited to get back on the road and to our next event," said Eagle coach Emily Kuhfeld. "The team has had a great few days of practice and evaluation from our first event, and we are looking forward to competing against a good field on a beautiful golf course this upcoming week."
The field features seven teams that finished in the top-150 in the Golfstat rankings last season. Since the event began in 2000, East Carolina has claimed three titles (2000-02), finished second four times and third on three occasions (2004, 2011, 2013).
Georgia Southern placed 15th in the program's first tournament - the Lady Paladin Invitational, hosted by Furman. Hvass was the top finisher for Georgia Southern and tied for 47th.
Freshman Ansley Bowman will play in her first collegiate tournament this week.
Georgia Southern has another quick turnaround before its next event. The Eagles play in the Wendy's Invitational at Rivertowne Country Club in Charleston, S.C., Oct. 4-5.
