WHAT COACH KEVIN KENNEDY SAID
On the game
"Presbyterian made things very difficult for us today, they fought for everything and we made some adjustments in the second half. We tried to press up a little higher in the second half so we wouldn't end up fouling as much in the defensive third. We got a very good individual moment from Eric Dinka and after that the game opened up for us. We were a more relaxed and it opened us up to do some other things."
On the defensive performance
"The last thing we talked about before we came out for the second half was defense. We have been in that situation a lot where we were tied at halftime, we challenged the team about how they wanted it to end and how we wanted to write the story. The guys responded and showed tremendous effort to not only get the win, but keep the clean sheet which is one of their goals."
NEXT UP
Georgia Southern will get a chance to recover before visiting South Florida on Sept. 11 to open a run of five-straight matches away from home. Kickoff against the Bulls is set for 7 p.m. on the Florida Suncoast.
