Three-day tournament opens the season
STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern Women's Tennis gets its first serves of the 2015-16 season this weekend in the Elon Invitational at a former SoCon foe. The Eagles travel to the heart of Tobacco Road on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the three-day tournament.
"We are very excited to be heading up to Elon, NC this weekend," said second-year head coach Michelle Stanford. "The invitational has a tough list of competitors. I am confident that our team is ready to compete and exemplify everything that we have worked on these past couple of weeks. We are looking to return Statesboro with some great results in both singles and doubles. The team has had great energy this week at practice and I now that their excitement will help push them through the tough matches that lie ahead."
Georgia Southern's next outing will be on Oct. 2-4 as the Eagles play host to the Georgia Southern Fall Invitational. The three-day tournament will be held at the Wallis Tennis Center adjacent to Hanner Fieldhouse. Admission will be free to all three days of the tournament.
