"I feel like it is a balanced non-conference schedule," said Head Coach Kip Drown. "We have four home games including the season opener against Lipscomb on November 15th and four road games highlighted with the game at UGA and one neutral-site contest make-up the schedule. I believe that it will prepare us for our Sun Belt schedule beginning on December 30th."
After the home opener, the Eagles visit Mercer (Nov. 20), Georgia (Nov. 24) and Savannah State (Dec. 2) before returning home. Georgia Southern faces Jacksonville State on December 4th before taking a 10-day break for final exams. The Eagles host Charleston Southern on Dec. 14th before facing Robert Morris on Dec. 17 at 11 a.m. The final two non-conference games are at the Stetson Classic on December 20th and 21st in DeLand, Fla. at the Edmunds Center.
The Eagles open their second season in the Sun Belt Conference on the road with a trip to Texas State and UT Arlington on Dec. 30 and Jan. 2. Georgia Southern's two games against Georgia State are set for January 19th in Atlanta and February 23rd in Statesboro.
The 2015-16 is the first campaign for the Eagles in the Coach Kip Drown era. Drown has served nearly 30 years as a head coach and holds a career record of 463-336 (.579) at Southwest Baptist, Georgia Southwestern, Grand Canyon and most recently Colorado State-Pueblo.
