Men’s Basketball Receives Send Off from Eagle Nation

NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern fans gathered in the lobby of the Hilton Riverside to see the Eagle men's basketball team off to the Sun Belt Tournament championship contest Sunday morning.
The Eagles went a different route today so as not to mix with the other team from Georgia playing in the finals. Southern Pride, the Georgia Southern cheerleaders and fans and well-wishers were on hand along with GUS as the Eagles made their way down the escalator of the Riverside building of the Hilton and loaded the bus in front of the roundabout to Poydras Street.
Georgia Southern tips off against Georgia State at 1 p.m. Eastern in Lakefront Arena, and the game will be televised live on ESPN2. The winner receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The teams split the season series with each winning at home.
