Layup Line
Georgia Southern continues its five-game homestand as the Eagles host ULM this afternoon.

It's the 10th annual Pack the House in Pink, an event designed to raise awareness about breast cancer and aid in the fight against the disease.

It's the second of two meetings against ULM this season. The Warhawks topped the Eagles 72-66 in overtime in Monroe Jan. 24.

The Eagles have lost their last seven and are coming off an 82-54 decision to Georgia State Thursday.

The Eagles are in a stretch in which they play seven of eight contests at home.

Georgia Southern is 2-7 at home and 0-5 in home Sun Belt games. The Eagles played six of their first eight Sun Belt games on the road.

Senior Anna Claire Knight is one of 30 candidates in the country for the Senior Class Award. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition. Knight is the lone candidate from the Sun Belt Conference.

Knight was named to the Capital One Academic All-District team by the College Sports Information Directors of America. She advances to the national ballot for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced at the end of February.

Briana Jones' 32 blocked shots already this season ranks eighth on the Georgia Southern single-season list. The junior has 58 for her career, which ranks 11th at Georgia Southern.

Four of the Eagles' last six contests have been one-possession games at the under-4 media timeout.

Sophomore Angel McGowan is 27 points shy of 500 for her career.

ULM has won four of its last six, but is coming off a 68-44 loss at UALR Thursday night.

Sharnice Brooks leads the Warhawks in scoring with 13.7 points a game and shoots 50 percent from the floor.
