STATESBORO, Ga. – A block party is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 5, from 2:30–4:30 p.m. at Hanner Fieldhouse (facing the Hollis building). Hosted by the University Programming Board, the festivities are a precursor for both basketball games that night against Georgia State. Georgia Southern Athletics will be on hand promoting the Whiteout games that evening and the spring sports seasons (baseball, softball, men's tennis, women's tennis, track and field and men's golf).

There will be several giveaways that students can enjoy throughout the block party and the basketball games, including free food, free games and more. The first 500 students in attendance at the basketball game will receive a free rally towel, courtesy of The Hamptons and the first 500 students will receive a free t-shirt courtesy of University Village @ Southern and 111 South.
        
The men's team has won its last four, is in first place in the Sun Belt standings and tips off at 7:30 p.m. The women's team takes on the Panthers at 5 p.m.
