GUS Visits Dining Commons to Promote Basketball Game

STATESBORO, Ga. – While students were eating and socializing in the Georgia Southern University's Dining Commons, GUS encouraged students to attend Thursday's game against Arkansas State.
Besides encouraging students to attend the basketball game, he handed out flyers to students and took pictures with them. That contest closes a five-game homestand in the friendly confines of Hanner Fieldhouse.
Thursday night's basketball game against Arkansas State is Military Appreciation Day. Military family members can purchase general admission seats for just $5. Georgia Southern ROTC will be in attendance and sing the national anthem before the men's game. Troops will get sworn into the military at halftime of the men's game. Free t-shirts will be given out to students while supplies last.
The men's team has won five out of its last six games and is in second place in the Sun Belt standings with a mark of 9-3 in conference play.
