GEORGIA SOUTHERN IN THE HATTER CLASSIC• This season will mark the 28th time Stetson has hosted the Hatter Classic in DeLand, Fla. dating back to the 1980-81 season.
• Georgia Southern will be participating in the tournament for the fifth time, but it is the first time since the 2012-13 season.
• The Eagles have an all-time record of 4-4 all-time in the tournament that includes winning the inaugural tournament in 1981. The Eagles also played for the tournament crown in 1997 falling 95-81 to Colorado State.
• In GSU's four previous trips to DeLand, the Eagles have faced Stetson three times (2-1). They have also played Wake Forest, Duke, Colorado State, Maine and Bethune-Cookman in previous Classics.
• Georgia Southern has placed four players on the all-tournament team including two in the 1997 tourney. Those four players include Mary Perry (1997), Sharon Mitchell (1997), Mimi Lindsey (2001) and MiMi DuBose (2012).
LAYUP LINE• The Eagles wrapped up a three-game home stand with a record of 2-1 following a 64-49 loss to Robert Morris. They now begin a four-game road swing that takes them into Florida and Texas to close out the non-conference slate as well as 2015 and open 2016 the their Sun Belt Conference schedule.
• The 1,509 in attendance at Thursday's game against the Colonials of Robert Morris was the 10th-most people to attend a home game in program history. The game between the Eagles and Colonials surpassed the 1,490 mark set on Jan. 22, 1996 in a game against Davidson.
• The Eagles started off the month of December 3-0. It was the first three-game winning streak since Rusty Cram's 2011-12 team bested Jacksonville (52-46, 12/21/11), Southern Wesleyan (75-40, 12/30/11), and Wofford (56-48, 1/2/12) in consecutive games.
• The 64 points scored in the win over Charleston Southern tied the season-high for most team points. The Eagles also hit the mark in the first win of the season at Savannah State.
• Speaking of matching season-highs, the Eagles' 22 field goals made and 44.9% shooting performance against Charleston Southern also matched season-highs set against the Tigers of Savannah State.
• When Georgia Southern scored 32 points in the first half of the Charleston Southern game, it was the most first half points scored this season by GSU. The Eagles scored 14 points in the first quarter (also a season-high for that period) and 18 in the second quarter. Georgia Southern's season-high for points in a half was 39 in the second half against Savannah State.
• Georgia Southern picked up the first win of the season, and the first Division 1 win for head coach
Kip Drown, on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015 with a 64-48 road win at Savannah State.
