Emmanuel Raji, Jeremy Rector and Chase Park claim first team honors
BOONE, N.C. – Georgia Southern Men's Soccer placed five student-athletes on the Sun Belt All-Conference teams as announced by the league office. The all-conference selections and individual award winners were chosen in a vote by the league's six head coaches and announced at the league's pre-tournament banquet.
Emmanuel Raji (Senior - Lawrenceville, Ga.), Jeremy Rector (Junior - Duluth, Ga.) and Chase Park (Senior – Peachtree City, Ga.) picked up All-Sun Belt Conference First Team honors. Raji was a second-team selection last season while Park picked up first team honors for the second-straight season.
Raji shared the team lead with four goals this season while Rector scored three goals with two assists from his spot in the midfield. Park has been a steadfast part of the Eagle defense, playing 12 matches at center back, helping to record five shutouts.
Nick Wells (Sophomore – Stockbridge, Ga.) and Jack Falle (Senior – Lilburn, Ga.) were named second team All-Sun Belt Conference. Falle earns his second-straight All-Conference nod this season.
Wells leads the Georgia Southern offense in points with two goals and six assists. Both goals came in the win over Belmont on Sept. 20. Falle has recorded five shutouts in goal for the Eagles while playing nearly every minute of the season in goal.
Georgia Southern opens the 2015 Sun Belt Tournament on Friday afternoon against in-state rival Georgia State at Appalachian State's Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN3.
