Murphy Shares Stories from Baseball Career

STATESBORO, Ga. – Atlanta Braves legend and two-time National League MVP Dale Murphy spoke to a large crowd at the fifth annual Evening with the All-Stars banquet inside the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center on the campus of Georgia Southern University.
The banquet which benefits the Georgia Southern baseball team and helps kick off the season, provide fans, community members and children interested in the game of baseball to hear stories of life as a baseball player, meet the 2015 baseball team and enjoy a silent and live auction.
Murphy was joined on stage by third-round draft pick of the Colorado Rockies and Eagle baseball alum Sam Howard. Howard provided an update on his career and shared his experience about life as a professional baseball player.
The 2015 baseball season opens on February 13 with a home contest against Bethune-Cookman. The Eagles will have 31-home games including dates with Georgia, Georgia Tech, West Virginia and Appalachian State.
