
Sarah Purvis Named NFCA All-Region

Senior picks up her third career all-region honor
STATESBORO, Ga. – Senior Sarah Purvis was named NFCA All-Region on Thursday for the third time in her career. The hurler helped the Eagles to its second SoCon Regular Season Championship in the last three seasons with the 2014 title.
Purvis recorded a record-breaking season in 2014, setting new school records for strikeouts, shutouts and consecutive scoreless innings. She fanned 288 batters, besting her 2012 total by 35 strikeouts in three fewer appearances. Purvis also recorded 10 shutouts and posted a string of 37.0 scoreless innings.
For her career, Purvis is now the school record holder in victories, strikeouts and shutouts. She also ranks second in career ERA with a 1.89 mark. Over her four years, Purvis recorded 61 wins and 757 strikeouts, more than 200 better than the previous record.
