STATESBORO, Ga.- The 2014 Spring Commencement Ceremony was held at Paulson Stadium on Saturday, May 10^th. Fifty-six student athletes walked in the graduation ceremony, distinguished by white sashes draped over their robes.

"Being a student-athlete at Georgia Southern has helped me grow as a person and has taught me many life lessons," said senior tennis player Oliver Webb. "Most importantly I learned from both the academic and athletic side of life, that as Chumbawamba would say, 'I get knocked down, but I get up again.' Being an Eagle has truly been an honor and I am thankful for such a great opportunity."

Senior swimmer and 2014 Female Scholar Athlete of the Year Megan Ostrom said, "I would not trade the student-athlete experience for anything. The dedication and passion that we need to complete all four years is something that I will carry with me and apply to all aspects of my life. The tight bond that the student-athletes have is incredible. They turned into my second family and without them and their support, my four years at Georgia Southern would not have been the same."
