Wirsu Tabbed SoCon Pitcher of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Josh Wirsu was named the Southern Conference's Pitcher of the Week for April 7th after tossing a complete game at The Citadel on Saturday.
Wirsu struck out 13 batters for the second-straight weekend and threw the Eagles' first complete game of the season in a 10-1 win over the Bulldogs in game one of Saturday's doubleheader.
The junior righthander scattered six hits and allowed just one run to improve to a SoCon best 6-2. Wirsu walked just one batter and tied his season-high with 13 strikeouts on 132 pitches.
The Pitcher of the Week honor is the first for Wirsu and the second for Georgia Southern this season. Ryan Frederick was the Pitcher of the Week for March 24.
Baseball is back in action Tuesday at Georgia Tech. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
