BIG STORY
- Georgia Southern and Georgia Tech wrap up the two-game season series in Atlanta Tuesday. The Eagles won the first meeting in their home opener 4-3 but trail 93-31 in the all-time series.
- GSU is looking for its first season sweep of the Yellow Jackets since 1996, and the Eagles have not won two games in the same year against Georgia Tech since 2009. GSU won last year's meeting in Atlanta 5-4 but is 14-42 all-time in Russ Chandler Stadium.
- The Eagles improved to 8-8 when not hitting a home run after a weekend series sweep of The Citadel in which they did not hit a single long ball. The wins were the first for GSU without a home run since the March 8th doubleheader against Holy Cross.
- The Eagles rank second in the Southern Conference with a .308 batting average and lead the league with a 2.91 ERA. Garrett Chapman leads the team with a .372 batting average and has 14 multi-hit games in 32 starts this season.
- Ryan Cleveland recorded a hit in all three games in the series sweep of the Citadel and has reached base in 12-straight games. The freshman first baseman is hitting .404 with five doubles and a home run over the stretch.
