Pro Eagle Update, Teaford Begins Overseas Play

STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern baseball has eight former Eagles currently playing professional baseball. Below is an update on those that have started their seasons. 

Chris Beck, Double-A Birmingham
Chris Beck is 2-2 with a 5.91 ERA in four starts for the Birmingham Barons. Beck tossed a complete game in a seven inning victory at the Mobile Bay Bears on April 15. In his last outing, Beck allowed six runs on eight hits in a loss to the Tennessee Smokies. Beck has gone five or more innings in three of his four starts this season.

Andy Moye, Double-A Huntsville
Andy Moye has not pitched since being injured in his first start of the year at Jacksonville on April 6th. Moye is currently on the 7-day disabled list.

Matt Murray, Class A Wilmington
Matt Murray is 0-1 with a 1.88 ERA in six relief appearances for the Wilmington Blue Rocks. Murray allowed a run on three hits in his last outing. In his previous two appearances Murray threw a combined 5.2 scoreless frames.

Shawn Payne, Class A Augusta
Shawn Payne is hitting .250 with one RBI and four stolen bases in 16 games for the Augusta GreenJackets. Payne has three doubles and nine walks on the season. Payne opened the season with a hit in his first three games and six of his first seven starts.

Victor Roache, Class A Brevard County
Victor Roache is hitting .193 with three doubles and two home runs in 20 games for the Brevard County Manatees. Roache has a hit in three of his last four games and last homered on April 14. Roache drove in a run with two singles and stole a base in the series opener with Tampa Bay on April 21.

Everett Teaford, Korean Baseball's LG Twins
Everett Teaford is 1-1 with a 3.31 ERA in three starts for the LG Twins of the Korean Baseball League. Teaford tossed 5.0 innings and allowed just two runs on four hits in his first career start for the Twins. Teaford earned his first win on April 18 after going six innings. Teaford allowed two runs and six hits to Hanwha. In his outing yesterday, Teaford received a no decision after surrendering three runs on five hits over 5.1 innings.
