STORYLINES- Georgia Southern is hoping a return to the road is just what they need to get back on track in league play. The last Southern Conference road series for the Eagles was a sweep at The Citadel.
- GSU has dropped its last two SoCon series at home since that sweep of the Bulldogs.
- The Eagles sit in sixth place in the SoCon with a 9-9 record and are just a game better than .500 at 8-7 on the road this season.
- GSU will be on the road this weekend at Wofford and again next weekend at Furman.
- The Eagles dropped a mid-week contest to the College of Charleston 5-3 on Wednesday.
- GSU swept the Terriers in Statesboro last season 7-2, 3-0, 7-5 and holds a 34-15 edge in the all-time series.
- Garrett Chapman continues to lead Georgia Southern in hitting with a .367 batting average and is seeking to be the first Eagle to lead the team in that category since 1984.

TEAM NOTES- The Georgia Southern Eagles lead the Southern Conference in overall wins with 27.
- GSU ranks in the top four in the conference in batting average (.296), slugging pct. (.435) and on-base percentage (.376).
- The Eagles lead the league in runs scored (302), hits (443), RBI (270) and total bases (651).
- The GSU pitching staff leads the SoCon with a 3.29 ERA.
- They also lead the league in innings pitched (380.0), strikeouts (351), pick offs (11) and fewest runs allowed (185).
- The Eagles opened the season with a 15-2 record and posted wins over Georgia and Georgia Tech before dropping their first series of the year to Elon.
- GSU split a pair of mid-week games with #13 Clemson and won a SoCon series over Appalachian State the following week.
