STORYLINES
Georgia Southern and UNCG meet for the final time as Southern Conference members in the regular season. The two teams will play their final SoCon weekend series at J.I. Clements Stadium this weekend.
Baseball will be the night cap after the Blue-White spring game on Saturday. The game time was pushed back to 4:30 p.m. to accommodate the spring game.
The last time these two teams met GSU was ranked 22nd in the country by Baseball America. The Spartans, though, got the best of the Eagles winning the final two games to take the series in Greensboro, N.C.
In 11-straight series meetings, the home team has either won or split the series.
GSU holds an impressive 17-4 record at home in J.I. Clements Stadium this year and is a win better than a year ago when they went 16-14.
Freshman infielder Garrett Chapman continues to lead the team with a .379 batting average and is seeking to become the first freshman since 1984 to lead the Eagles in batting average.
GSU will face the top hitting team in the SoCon this weekend. The Spartans are hitting a league-best .308 and boast two .400 hitters.

SERIES HISTORY
Georgia Southern leads the all-time series against UNCG with a 28-25 record.
The two teams have split the last four series with the Eagles winning in 2010 and 2012.
The home team has won or split the season series in the last 11 meetings dating back to 2001. GSU won 5-3 in the series opener that year and 9-3 in game two to take their only series in Greensboro.
A year ago the Eagles, ranked 22nd in the country, won the series opener 8-4 behind Sam Howard but dropped the series after losing 5-4 in game two on a walk-off single from Cambric Moye and 10-6 in the series finale.
GSU won the last meeting in Statesboro in 2012 behind Chris Beck 8-3 in game one and 6-5 on Sunday.
The Eagles are 17-7 at home in the series compared to just 7-15 on the road.

Chapman also leads the team with 15 multi-hit games and is currently riding an 11-game reached base streak.
The Eagles have gotten stellar pitching from their one-two punch of Sam Howard and Josh Wirsu. Howard has allowed just six earned runs in 24.1 innings, while Wirsu is coming off back-to-back 13 strikeout games.
GSU is hitting .306 on the season and has accumulated a 3.19 ERA.

The Spartans are the top hitting team in the SoCon with a .308 batting average and boast a pair of .400 hitters in Sean Guite and Eric Kalbfleisch.
