Big Story: Georgia Southern is looking to get back on track after a 1-3 week which ended with their sixth-straight road conference series loss. The Eagles will play five games this week with the first two coming at home in J.I. Clements Stadium. GSU is 16-3 at home this year and is hoping the return to their home field will pay dividends. The Eagles opened the year 15-2 before dropping their SoCon opener at Elon. GSU will host Jacksonville Tuesday and Kennesaw State Wednesday. Both games are slated for a 6 p.m. first pitch.

Series History: Georgia Southern and Jacksonville have met in each of the last 16 seasons and will once again play a home and home series in 2014. The Eagles return the trip to Jacksonville to close out the regular season on May 13.  GSU holds a 66-58 edge in the 124 game all-time series. The Eagles have won five-straight including both meetings a year ago.

Kennesaw State won both meetings a year ago, taking the opener 5-0 in Kennesaw and defeating Georgia Southern 8-3 in J.I. Clements Stadium. The Eagles hold a 9-6 record in the 15 game all-time series and won seven-straight meetings from 2009 to 2012. The series began in 2007 with the Owls winning the first three meetings. The Eagles picked up their first win in the series on April 23, 2008 in an 11 inning 6-4 victory.

Promotions: Tuesday game is a GATA game and all student-athletes and coaches will be in attendance. The softball team will be recognized at Tuesday's game and they will sign autographs on the concourse during the game. Baseball Bingo will also be played at both mid-week games.

Team Scope
Ga. Southern:
Georgia Southern continues to live by the home runs. Of the Eagles' 20 wins, 15 have come in games in which they have hit a home run. GSU is 15-2 when hitting a homer this year and 10-0 when hitting two or more long balls. Ryan Cleveland hit an eighth inning home run in Saturday's 7-5 win over Davidson. Aaron Mizell leads the team with nine home runs, seven of which came in the month of March. The Eagles lead the Southern Conference with 36 long balls and were tops in the nation last week.

Jacksonville: Jacksonville went 3-1 last week including a weekend series win over Georgia Southern's Wednesday opponent Kennesaw State. The Dolphins have picked up half of their eight wins in their last 10 contests. JU is 4-6 over the last 10 games and has posted wins over Lipscomb and Florida A&M in addition to Kennesaw State. The Dolphins are hitting .272 as a squad and the pitching staff has tallied a 5.12 ERA.

Kennesaw State: Kennesaw State boasts wins over Georgia and Georgia Tech this season, but has dropped three-straight conference series to Mercer, Lipscomb and Jacksonville. The Owls come into Wednesday's contest just 1-9 in their last 10 games. The lone win, a 10-4 victory in the series opener at Jacksonville. KSU has dropped mid-week contests to Georgia Tech and Auburn during that stretch. The Owls rank third in the A-Sun with a 3.86 team ERA and rank fourth in the league with a .282 team batting average.

Who's Hot: Aaron Palmer has two hits in each of his last four games and has recorded a hit in six of his last seven contests. Palmer went 8 for 13 (.615) with four walks in four games last week.

Connection Junction: Three Cartersville High School products will meet in Wednesday's game. Georgia Southern's Sam Howard will face his former teammates in Kendall Hawkins and Colin Bennett, who now play for Kennesaw State. Eagle catcher Chase Griffin will also reunite with his former high school teammate at Lee County, Justin McCalvin, on Wednesday.
