
Women's Tennis Notches A Win Against Alabama State

MONTGOMERY, AL.- Georgia Southern women's tennis conquered Alabama State 7-0 this afternoon at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.
"I am proud of the way the team competed today," said head coach Amy Bonner. "I hope we can carry the momentum of the last two days with us into the match tomorrow with Auburn. That will be a great experience for the team and we are looking forward to it."
In doubles play, Paola Garrido and Mary Phillips Smith were down 4-1, then down again 6-2. The team fought back and won 8-6. Stephanie Woods and Giulia Riepe defeated Alabama State's Denis and Telfer 8-3. Caitlin Kitchen and Jordana Klein were victorious 8-3, securing the doubles point for the Eagles.
Paola Garrido tallied a win for the Eagles in singles play, beating ASU's Wijugaarde 6-0, 6-1. Jordana Klein and Daria Vasekina beat their opponents, as well as Stephanie Woods and Giulia Riepe.
The Eagles next competition is Sunday, February 9th, against Auburn University.
