  • Georgia Southern plays the first Sun Belt Conference game in program history when the Eagles travel to UT Arlington for a 6 p.m. (Eastern) contest.
  • The game starts a stretch where Georgia Southern plays six of its first eight league games on the road.
  • It's the first meeting between the Mavericks and Eagles and the first of two slated match-ups this season.
  • The Eagles returned eight letterwinners and three starters from last season's squad. Three of the top-5 scorers and rebounders are back for Georgia Southern.
  • Senior Anna Claire Knight was named to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Team in the coaches poll, and the Eagles were picked to finish 10th.
  • Knight and junior Briana Jones were named Preseason All-Sun Belt by College Sports Madness.
  • Knight has 1,103 career points, 457 rebounds and 148 assists. No player in program history has recorded over 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 200 assists for their career. Knight is scheduled to play in her 100th career contest tonight.
  • Georgia Southern is 1-3 in its last four and coming off a 68-52 win over Southern University in its last contest Dec. 22.
  • Georgia Southern was 10-12 in Southern Conference openers and 4-6 on the road.
  • UT Arlington enters the game with a 6-3 record and has won its last three. The Mavericks are coming off a 46-38 victory at North Texas Dec. 21.
  • The Mavericks are 4-1 at home this season.
  • UT Arlington leads the Sun Belt in scoring defense (48.6 ppg) and field goal percentage defense (.346).
  • The Mavs were picked ninth in the Sun Belt Preseason Coaches Poll.

  • Georgia Southern has one senior and seven freshmen on the roster. Twelve of 16 Eagles on the roster are sophomores or freshmen in eligibility.
  • The Eagles will travel a total of 11,765 miles this season, and a bulk of those - 9,833 to be exact - will be logged traveling to their 10 road Sun Belt contests.
  • Georgia Southern faced five teams in the top-160 in the country in RPI, including two in the top-100 in its non-conference slate (Eastern Washington 131, Georgia 46, Jacksonville State 123,  Kennesaw State 56 and Mercer 158).
  • Anna Claire Knight scored 20 points against Chattanooga in the final game of the 2013-14 campaign to reach 1,000 points for her career. She is the sixth player in the history of the program to reach 1,000 career points in her junior season.
  • Junior Sierra Kirkland has played in every game in her career (71).
  • Angel McGowan is averaging 13 points a game in her last 17 contests, dating back to last season (222 points).
  • Freshman Abby Hix earned all-tournament honors at the Gator Holiday Classic after averaging 15 points and nailing eight triples in the two games. Hix was named the College Sports Madness Sun Belt Player of the Week Dec. 29 for her performance.
  • Georgia Southern has hit the double-digit mark in 3-pointers made in two games this season. The Eagles drilled 11 triples against Georgia and Southern U.
  • Its the 42nd season of women's basketball at Georgia Southern.
  • The 2013-14 campaign saw Georgia Southern improve in scoring, rebounding, shooting percentage and 3-point percentage from the previous season, and the Eagles had their best win percentage in conference play since the 2010-11 campaign.
  • The Eagles won a SoCon Tourney game in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2006 and 2007.
  • Georgia Southern lists seven players on its 2014-15 roster at 6-feet or taller. The Eagles played the final 12 games of coach Chris Vozab's first season with just one player over 6-foot available (Danielle Spencer).
  • The Eagles' game against Toccoa Falls Nov. 29 was the first time in Chris Vozab's tenure that every Eagle on the roster was dressed and available to play. All 16 Eagles played in the contest, and 15 saw 10 minutes or more. The Eagles had all 16 players dressed and available for three games this season.
  • Georgia Southern's 64 rebounds against Toccoa Falls were the second-most in program history, and their 36 points allowed were the sixth-fewest. It was also the Eagles' first regular-season game against a non-Division I program during Vozab's tenure.
