
Eagles Earn Degrees at Friday’s Fall Commencement Ceremonies

Seventeen student-athletes transition to Georgia Southern alumni
STATESBORO, Ga. - Three ceremonies were held in Hanner Fieldhouse Friday to confer more than 1,700 graduate and undergraduate degrees at Georgia Southern University's 2014 Fall Commencement. Families, friends and teammates celebrated the graduation of 17 Eagle who moved their tassels at the 23rd annual Fall Commencement and went from student-athlete to alum.
Rob Anderson, the University System of Georgia Vice Chancellor for Educational Access and Success delivered the commencement address for the 9 a.m. ceremony for the College of Education, College of Business Administration and College of Public Health. Colonel Thomas J. Tickner, the Commander and District Engineer for the Savannah District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was the commencement speaker for the 11 a.m. ceremony for the College of Science and Mathematics, the College of Engineering and Information Technology and the College of Health and Human Sciences. Georgia Southern alumnus Vic Reynolds, the District Attorney of the Cobb Judicial Circuit, delivered the address for the 1 p.m. ceremony for International Trade, International Studies and the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences.
