  • Georgia Southern travels to Jacksonville State for a non-conference contest Tuesday night. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. Eastern.
  • It's the Eagles' first trip to Jacksonville State since the 2006-07 season, an 84-77 loss.
  • The Eagles return eight letterwinners and three starters from last season's squad. Three of the top-5 scorers and rebounders are back for Georgia Southern.
  • Senior Anna Claire Knight was named to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Team in the coaches poll, and the Eagles were picked to finish 10th.
  • Knight and junior Briana Jones were named Preseason All-Sun Belt by College Sports Madness.

  • Jacksonville State returned all five starters and nine letterwinners from last year's squad.
  • The Gamecocks are off to their best start since the 1992-93 campaign, when they finished 18-11.

Series History
  • This will be the ninth meeting between the Eagles and Gamecocks, and Georgia Southern has won the last three to tie the series 4-4.
  • The Eagles are 0-3 against the Gamecocks on the road and 1-0 under head coach Chris Vozab.
  • Georgia Southern post players Briana Jones, Danielle Spencer and Sierra Kirkland combined for 33 points and 29 rebounds, and the Eagles never trailed en route to a 63-50 victory over Jacksonville State in the last meeting last season in Hanner Fieldhouse.
  • Jones and Spencer each posted double-doubles for the Eagles with Jones collecting 13 points and 14 rebounds to go along with three blocked shots. Spencer added 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Kirkland collected eight points, all in the second half, and three rebounds. Anna Claire Knight contributed 10 points, four rebounds and four assists.
  • Candace Morton led Jacksonville State with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Miranda Cantrell tallied 12 points and 10 boards.
  • Georgia Southern held the Gamecocks to 27.5 percent shooting for the game while posting a 42.6 percentage on their offensive end.
