Georgia Southern has had almost a week off since their last match. The Eagles take on Appalachian State for the second time this season. The Mountaineers won the first meeting 3-0 Sept. 19, in Statesboro.
Eagle senior Jamie DeRatt needs 60 kills and 98 digs to reach 1,000 for her career. Senior Kym Coley is 158 kills away from 1,000 for her career and 23 blocks shy of 300.
Coley was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
With 37 assists at Georgia State Oct. 8, junior Kat Minnerly passed 2,000 for her career and has moved up to sixth on the school's list, 185 helpers shy of fifth. She has tallied 50-plus assists in a match 10 times in her three seasons as an Eagle.
The Eagles faced three top-20 teams and six opponents from Power-5 conferences in their 10 non-conference matches this season.
