
Eagles Have Strong Day At Wingate Fall Frenzy

DAY TWO RESULTS
Charlotte, Nc. – The Eagles posted strong times on day two of the Wingate Fall Frenzy Saturday from the Mecklenburg County Aquatics Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Day two included preliminary rounds in the morning with the finals in the evening for the 200 medley relay, 400 individual medley, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, and 800 free relay.
The Saturday evening finals kicked off with the 200 medley relay. The Eagles team of Christina Moran, Amber Cortazzo, Megan Heller and Elaina Lanson finished in 5th place with a time of 1:46.43. Gardner-Webb won the finals in 1:42.40
Lauren Campbell posted a strong 5th place showing in the 400 individual medley event touching in 4:33.45. In total, 32 swimmers competed in the event, and Campbell qualified in the Top-8 through preliminaries thus earning a chance to compete in the A final.
Kylee Parsons, competing in the 200 free A-final, finished in the 5th spot with a time of 1:53.66. In the 100 back, Moran finished with a time of 58.79 which was strong enough for an 8th place finish in the A-final.
Heller posted a 57.07 in the 100 butterfly which was good enough for 7th place in the A final. In the B final of the same event, Sarah Schwartz and Cortazzo finished 12th and 13th overall touching in 58.32 and 58.52 respectively. In total, 71 swimmers competed in the event.
The final day of the Wingate Fall Frenzy will be Sunday and the Eagles will compete in the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, and 400 free relays to close out their fall season.
