
Swimming Enjoys Success On Day One Of Wingate Fall Frenzy

Lanson Wins Big in 50 Free Finals
DAY ONE RESULTS
Charlotte, Nc. – The first day of the Wingate Fall Frenzy was completed Friday from the Mecklenburg County Aquatics Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Day one featured both preliminary heats and finals for the 200 free relay, 500 free, 200 individual medley, 50 free and 400 medley relay.
Elaina Lanson won big in the finals of the 50 freestyle. She touched in 23.56 to lead all 71 swimmers who competed in the event.
In the finals of the 200 free relay, the team of Kylee Parsons, Christina Moran, Megan Heller and Lanson finished 6th with a time of 1:36.37. The winning team from Queens University of Charlotte finished in 1:34.40.
The 500 freestyle final saw Parsons again finish 6th touching in 5:04.73. Amber Cortazzo finished 8th in the 200 individual medley final with a time of 2:08.98.
In the 400 medley relay final, the team of Moran, Cortazzo, Heller, and Lanson finished 7th with a time of 3:53.82.
The Eagles will return to action in day two of the Wingate Fall Frenzy Saturday at 10 a.m. for the prelims of the 200 medley relay, 400 individual medley, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back and 800 free relay.
