
Eagles Post Career Highs at Cross Country Championship

MOBILE, Ala. - Four members of the Georgia Southern cross country team posted career bests as the Eagles finished 10th in their first ever Sun Belt Championship on Sunday.
UT Arlington won the 2014 Sun Belt Conference title while Appalachian State and Arkansas State rounded out the top three.
Freshman Karli Koning paced the Eagles for the fifth-straight meet and finished with her second lowest time of the season (19.15.7). Ashton Lord finished a spot behind her in 49th place with a career best time of 19:22.9.
Abigail Booth was the third Eagle to cross the finish line and posted a career best time of 19:40.7. Fellow freshman Bailey Willett finished just seconds behind her with a new career best time of 19:48.7.
Leigha Long and Rebecca Parker rounded out the Eagles in competition. Long posted a career best (21:31.6), while Parker crossed the finish line with a time of 22:10.7.
The Georgia Southern track and field team will open indoor competition at the BSC Panther Indoor Icebreaker on December 5 in Birmingham, Ala.
