STATESBORO, GA. – Georgia Southern's quest for a Sun Belt Tournament Championship starts on Friday with a semifinal match against the Georgia State Panthers. The Eagles dropped a 1-0 result to the Panthers last Saturday in both sides' regular season finale. Kickoff against the Panthers is set for 6:30 p.m. at Eagle Field. Tickets are $5 for single game and $10 for full tournament passes.

TOURNAMENT TIME IN STATESBOROThis season the Sun Belt Men's Soccer Tournament returns for the first time since 1996. The Eagles welcome four other teams to Statesboro for the weekend which includes four games at the friendly confines.
GAME 1 – No. 5 App St. vs. No. 4 NJIT – Thursday, 6:30 p.m.
GAME 2 – Winner Game 1 vs. No. 1 Hartwick – Friday, 3 p.m.
GAME 3 – No. 3 Georgia Southern vs. No. 2 Georgia State – Friday, 6:30 p.m.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 2 – Sunday, 1 p.m
EAGLES LEAD LEAGUE IN POSTSEASON HONORSSix Eagles shared seven of the Sun Belt postseason awards which were announced on Thursday morning. Thor Svienbjornsson took Freshman of the Year as well as First Team All-Sun Belt honors. He was joined on the first team by
Jack Falle,
Chase Park and
David Vargas Masis. Two forwards took spots on the second team with
Emmanuel Raji and
Eric Dinka winning All-Sun Belt Second Team honors.

Jack Falle was named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season on October 28th. Falle picked up a win over App State and was also named Defensive POTW on September 2nd.

Jack Falle enters the postseason as the No. 6 ranked goalkeeper in terms of saves per game with 5.87 saves per game. He is also 11th nationally in total saves with 88 this season.
CRAZY FINISHGeorgia Southern was part of one of the craziest finishes in NCAA soccer history when the Eagles and Tar Heels combined for four goals in 83 seconds in the 85th and 86th minutes of the match.
Adam Abdellaoui scored twice for the Eagles in the 6-2 loss to UNC which snapped a five-match shutout streak for the No. 6 ranked Tar Heels.
EAGLE OFFENSE GETS THE GOALSOffensively the Eagles are ranked 43rd nationally and tops in the Sun Belt with 1.67 goals per game.
