Georgia Southern picked up its first Sun Belt home win last Friday as the Eagles topped Troy 3-0.

Georgia Southern has a pair of Sun Belt matches on the road this week. The Eagles travel to Georgia State Wednesday and South Alabama Saturday.

Senior Jamie DeRatt averaged 4.29 kills and 3.14 digs last week while hitting .276. She has three double-doubles this season and 29 for her career. She needs 176 kills and 187 digs to reach 1,000 for her career.

Senior Kym Coley has double-figure kills in nine matches this season. She is 251 kills away from 1,000 for her career.

Junior Kat Minnerly is 26 assists away from 2,000 for her career and has tallied 50-plus assists in a match eight times in her three seasons as an Eagle.

Junior Crysten Curry is 80 blocks shy of 300 for her career, which will put her in seventh on the school's all-time list.

Coley has been named one of 30 candidates for the Senior Class Award for excellence, both on and off the court. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition. The 30 candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through the regular season, and those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot. The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship in December.

The Eagles faced three top-20 teams and six opponents from Power-5 conferences in its first nine non-conference matches this season.
