The Eagles play in the fifth annual Wolfpack Intercollegiate, hosted by NC State at Lonnie Poole Golf Course. It's an 18-team field, and the teams will play 36 holes Monday and 18 Tuesday.
Georgia Southern will send out its veteran lineup in seniors Scott Wolfes, Charlie Martin, Matt Mierzejewski and Kim Koivu and redshirt junior Henry Mabbett. All five guys competed at last week's Shoal Creek Invitational with Koivu playing as an individual. Wolfes, Martin, Mierzejewski and Mabbett have been in the lineup for all three tournaments this fall.
Georgia Southern will be paired with Wofford and Boston College for the first two rounds. The Eagles will play 36 holes Monday and 18 Tuesday.
Georgia Southern is coming off a sixth-place finish at the Shoal Creek Invitational. The field featured five teams in the top-50 of the final 2013-14 rankings, including two-time defending national champion Alabama.
Wolfes was named the Sun Belt Golfer of the Month for September. He has now finished in the top-20 in 25 of his 37 collegiate starts, which includes 17 top-10 outings. Mierzejewski and Mabbett each placed in the top-20 at Shoal Creek for the second-best outings of their respective careers.
Next up for the Eagles is a trip across the pond as they travel to Scotland for the International Intercollegiate at St. Andrew's Oct. 20-22.
