2013-14 SoCon Academic Honor Roll

Junior (2013-14): Played in six tournaments and 18 rounds • Posted a 75.50 scoring average • Tied for 16th in his Eagle debut at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic after posting a 3-over 216 • Low round was a 72, which he notched four times. 

Before Georgia Southern: Posted 14 top-10 finishes in 20 tournaments, including four individual victories, during his two years at Brevard College • Named South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the Year and first-team all-conference in 2011-12 • Recorded three individual wins, including carding 66-70=136 (-8) to win the Cherokee Valley Invitational • Stroke average of 72.40 in 20 rounds was the best of all freshman in Division II and ranked 14th in the country • Named first-team All-SAC again as a sophomore after recording eight top-15 finishes in nine tournaments • That includes seven top-5 finishes and a win at the Irish Creek Intercollegiate • Tied for sixth at the SAC Championships • Owns Brevard school records for lowest round (66) and lowest two-round score (136) • Earned academic honor roll honors at Brevard from 2011-13 and made Dean’s List his last semester.
 
Prep: Finished in the top-20 in the Finnish Amateur rankings in 2010 • Finished with Low-Amateur honors at the 2011 Gant Open, a Nordea Professional Tour event, where he shot 68-70-71 (-4) • In 2012, he tied for 10th at the Paltamo Open, another professional event where he competed as an amateur • Was the Utah State Champion in 2008 • Also played soccer and ice hockey • Three-time member of the Mount Vernon Honor Roll.
 
Personal: Born Kim Anton Koivu April 11, 1991, in Helsinki, Finland • The son of Jukka and Pia Koivu • Has a sister, Anna.
