Lilburn, Ga. native earns second award this season
NEW ORLEANS – For the second time this season, Georgia Southern goalkeeper Jack Falle has been named Sun Belt Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The native of Lilburn, Ga. posted his third shutout of the season on Saturday night in the Eagles' 1-0 victory over Appalachian State.
Falle matched his career-high of nine saves on Saturday night to pick up the program's sixth victory of the season. It was Falle's second shutout in league play as the Eagles reside in a tie for second place in the league standings.
Falle was also named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week after the opening weekend of the regular season.
The Eagles are back on the road Tuesday night with a trip to No. 9 North Carolina. Georgia Southern faces the Tar Heels starting at 7 p.m. from historic Fetzer Field. The match can be seen live on GoHeels.com.
Georgia Southern hosts the 2014 Sun Belt Men's Soccer Tournament on November 13-16 at Eagle Field in Statesboro. The winner of the league's tournament championship earns a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
