
Koning, Career Bests Leads Eagles at CofC Invite

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Karli Koning posted her second lowest time of the season, and Leigha Long and Ashton Lord posted career bests as the Georgia Southern Cross Country team finished eighth at the College of Charleston Invitational on Friday.
Freshman Koning paced the Eagles and finished 17th overall with a time of 19:16.10. Lord was the second Eagle to cross the finish line. She snapped her career best for the second-straight meet and finished with a time of 19:36.20.
Abigail Booth finished third with a time of 20:06.30, while Leigha Long posted a new career best with a time of 21:37.20. Long's previous career best was set a little over a year ago at the BSC Panther Invite.
Katelyn Chancey and Rebecca Parker finished back-to-back with times of 21:54.30 and 22:01.20, respectively. Brooke Stanley rounded out the Eagles in competition Friday night and crossed the line with a time of 22:53.40.
Cross Country returns to competition Nov. 2 at the Sun Belt Cross Country Championships in Mobile, Ala.
