
DuBose Named SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference has named Georgia Southern women's basketball standout MiMi DuBose its North Carolina Education Lottery Student-Athlete of the Week, the league announced today.
DuBose averaged 14.5 points while shooting 56 percent from the floor and 55 percent from 3-point range in a 2-0 week for the Eagles. The senior hit 6 3-pointers on the weekend to move into first place on the Georgia Southern career list with 171.
She posted 15 points and three rebounds in a victory at Appalachian State Monday and recorded 14 points and two assists in a win at Western Carolina Saturday. A graduate student who earned her bachelor's degree last May, DuBose holds a 4.0 grade point average in kinesiology.
She is the fourth Eagle to earn the honor this season, joining teammate Anna Claire Knight (Dec. 18), football player Garrett Frye (Nov. 20) and volleyball player Kym Coley (Sept. 4).
Georgia Southern returns to action at home Saturday. The Eagles take on Samford at 5 p.m. in Hanner Fieldhouse.
