• Georgia Southern faces Appalachian State for the 28th and final time as SoCon Opponents ... It is the 42nd all-time meeting between the programs.
• Jelani Hewitt enters the Appalachian State game as the No. 1 ranked scorer in the Southern Conference with 20.8 ppg and ranks 20th in scoring nationwide ... He scored 38 points earlier this season against Campbell and has twice been named SoCon Player of the Week ... He has scored in double figures 17 of 18 games this season and has gone over 20 points in scoring for 11 of the 18 games this year ... He needs just 19 points for 1,000 in his career.
• Hewitt was also named SoCon Player of the Month for November 2013, averaging 24.5 ppg in the opening month of the season.
