– For the final time in the rivalry, Georgia Southern welcomes Furman to Hanner Fieldhouse.
– Jelani Hewitt enters the Furman game as the No. 1 ranked scorer in the Southern Conference with 20.8 ppg and ranks 20th in scoring nationwide ... He scored 38 points earlier this season against Campbell and has twice been named SoCon Player of the Week ... He has scored in double figures 16 of 17 games this season and has gone over 20 points in scoring for 10 of the 17 games this year.
– Hewitt was also named SoCon Player of the Month for November 2013, averaging 24.5 ppg in the opening month of the season.
– Tre Bussey ranks second in scoring for the Eagles and is one of the leading shooters on the team from downtown with a 37.6% mark ... Overall, he has 18.2 ppg to rank fifth in the SoCon ... He has scored over 20 points in eight of the 16 games this season.
– Mark Byington is 15-13 as a Head Coach for his career.
– Angel Matias had a career night against South Carolina State with 22 points and nine rebounds ... The junior transfer scored a career-high and posted over 20 points for the first time in his career ... Overall, he leads the Eagles with 6.9 rebounds per game.
– Kyle Doyle returned from injury against Samford and scored a career-best 12 points while fouling out against the Bulldogs. The freshman forward went 3-for-5 from the field and 6-of-9 from the free throw line.
