Softball Opens 2014 Spring Practice

Eagles open 2014 campaign with Eagle Round Robin, February 7-9
STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern Softball opened practice for the 2014 campaign on Monday afternoon with a session on Eagle Field. The back-to-back Southern Conference Champions return six field starters from last year's squad as well as the entire pitching staff which was one of the best in the league.
"It is a great day out here," said Head Coach Annie Smith. "It's 60 degrees, the sun is shining, the grass is green and I'm excited to get going. We've only got about 18 practices before our first game at home so it is always exciting to get out there for the first time."
The 2014 campaign begins on February 7th against Oakland in the Eagle Round Robin. The Tournament also features Tennessee and Northern Colorado.
Georgia Southern Softball also has a pair of winter camps for youngsters. The first is on January 25th while the second camp is on February 1st. For more information, visit GeorgiaSouthernSoftballCamps.com.
