
Eagles Post Solid Effort in Second Outing

GRIFFIN, Ga. - In the second-ever meet for the Georgia Southern women's rifle team, the Eagles post ed a 2133 air rifle score at the North Georgia Invitational in Griffin, Ga. at Ole Mill Range on Saturday.
Kathryn Youngblood led GSU (0-1) for a second-straight match with a 556 score. Two weeks ago in Charleston, S.C. she posted a 561 to lead all shooters.
"We continue to make great strides in building this program from scratch. Today's second meet is another step on that path," said Head Coach Tim Parks. "We will keep working hard and will use the experience of this meet to help us improve when we compete again in a month."
Alejandra Shortridge had the largest improvement on the day, increasing her score by 20 points. Shortridge was second on the team with a 544 score. Rounding out the top-4 Becky Collier shot a 530 and Rachel Lewis posted a score of 516.
The Eagles are back in action on Oct. 26 at The Citadel. They will also face Wofford for the second time this season on the following day. Both matches will take place in Charleston, S.C.
