NCAA SCORECARD
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Georgia Southern shot a 2,338 smallbore on the first day of the NCAA Rifle Championships, held inside the Covelli Center and sits in sixth place heading into the second day of action. The point total is five points more than the Eagles shot in last year's NCAA smallbore.
Ole Miss won the smallbore title with a 2,356, followed by TCU and Nebraska tied with a 2,354.
Bremen Butler led the way with a 588, which was good for 17th place. Emme Walrath shot a 587, followed by Emma Pohlmann (583), Tori Watts (580) and Zahra Gonzalez Mazo (579).
Words from Coach Soren Butler: "I'm happy to have seen some improvements from last year and some good individual moments from today. We'll have a reset tonight and come back tomorrow to try and compete for an air title."
