Rifle Falls to The Citadel on Saturday

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Georgia Southern women's rifle team fell to The Citadel 2227-2201 in the first of two days of action in Charleston, S.C.

Coach Tim Parks' squad took advantage of nearly a month off from competition and shot a season-high 2201 in air rifle.

For the first time this season someone other than Kathryn Youngblood led the team in the individual scoring. Emmy Johnson edged Youngblood by four points and posted a team-high score of 553.

Youngblood shot a 549 and joined Beck Collier's 550 and Rachel Lewis' 549 as the four counting scores for the Eagles on the day. Alejandra Shortridge competed as the fifth Eagle and shot a 536.

The Georgia Southern women's rifle team will be back in action tomorrow against Wofford in Charleston, S.C.
