Basketball season is fast approaching, and I am excited about the upcoming men's and women's seasons. I am expecting both teams to have great seasons this year. I like where we are headed under Head Coaches Mark Byington and Chris Vozab.

Both of our teams will have new locker rooms to compete from this season. These new locker rooms will help the coaches and student-athletes in a number of ways and are a great addition to Hanner Fieldhouse.

Our fans and students are capable of making Hanner Fieldhouse one of the toughest places to play and we have seen this at times during our home games. We hope that you will be a part of this great atmosphere. We are also looking at a number of ways to improve the fan experience and will be providing new opportunities for fan engagement this season.

Coaches Byington and Vozab will also be providing a product on the court for you to cheer about. The men's team returns nine players from a year ago and have added four scholarship players to this year's team. The women's team returns four starters and nine letterwinners, including four of its top-five scorers from last season.

I invite each and every one of you out to a game this season to see where our basketball programs are headed and to witness the new Hanner Fieldhouse experience. I know our student-athletes and coaches would appreciate your attendance as well.
