
Norton Brothers Reach NPSL Semifinals

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern Men's Soccer will be well represented this weekend in the National Premiere Soccer League National Semifinals. Hunter and Reed Norton have starred this summer for the FC Lehigh Valley United Sonic, helping the team win the Northeast Conference Championship as the club looks to defend their 2012 NPSL Championship.
Both Nortons have been a part of the Sonic's starting XI throughout the season and will get a chance to continue their NPSL season on Saturday as Lehigh Valley United travels west to face Sonoma County Sol on Saturday in Rohnert Park, California.

LVU Sonic plays in the NPSL which is on the fourth tier on the United States Soccer Federation pyramid, the highest level for amateur teams. Teams in the NPSL feature collegiate players on summer break. The club also played in the 2013 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, the longest ongoing national soccer competition in the U.S.
In 2012 Hunter Norton was selected to the All-SoCon First Team while Reed Norton was tabbed All-SoCon Freshman Team.
Georgia Southern Men's Soccer's 2013 campaign starts on August 30th by hosting the 2013 SoCon/Big South Challenge at Eagle Field. The Eagles play against Winthrop starting at 7:30 p.m.
