STORY LINES
Georgia Southern (24-21, 12-12 SoCon) hosts their final Southern Conference series this weekend and will face Furman (24-19, 10-14 SoCon) in a three-game set starting Friday night. Game times for this weekendās series are 6 p.m. on Friday, 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
All three games can be heard on the Georgia Southern Radio Network and will be streamed online for free at gseagles.com/watch-listen.
Friday night will be GSU Employee Appreciation Night and all faculty and staff will receive free admission to the game. The concession stand will serve a variety of breakfast-food items for Breakfast and Baseball on Saturday. On Sunday the Eagles will celebrate Senior Day.
Robbie Dodds leads the offense in SoCon play with a .363 batting average and nine doubles. Justin Hess is 4-2 with three saves and a 2.66 ERA in 12 SoCon games this season.
Georgia Southern split a pair of mid-week games. Winning 7-6 over Charleston Southern at home after dropping a 5-4 11-inning decision at North Florida on Tuesday.
After the eight-game losing streak, the Eagles have won three of their last five games. GSU is hitting .304 and holds a 4.44 ERA in their last five games.
Chase Griffin leads the team with a .471 batting average during that stretch, while Ben Morgan is hitting .429 with two doubles over his last five games.
Georgia Southern finished the month of April with a 5-12 record. The Eagles hit .244 in the month and finished with a 5.34 ERA. Robbie Dodds led the team with a .342 batting average during the 17-game month, while Justin Hess was 1-1 with a 1.98 ERA over six appearances and four starts.
The trio of T.D. Davis, Chase Griffin and Ben Morgan have combined for 18 of the teamās 25 home runs.
T.D. Davis has 10 home runs on the season while the rest of the team has hit just 15. A year ago Davis hit just five home runs.
Chase Griffin has started all 45 games behind the plate for the Eagles this season. In his two-year career, Griffin has started 93 times as the teamās catcher. He and first baseman T.D. Davis are the only two Eagles to start every game this season at the same position.

MID-WEEK RECAPĀ Ā
Georgia Southern split a pair of mid-week games, winning at home 7-6 over Charleston Southern after falling in 11 innings to North Florida 5-4.
Zac Lenns tallied three hits over the two mid-week games. Lenns tallied two hits at North Florida and went 1-for-3 with a run scored at Charleston Southern.
Josh Stevenson pitched into the eighth inning at UNF but received a no decision after the Ospreys scored two runs in the eighth. Stevenson allowed three earned runs over seven innings.
Heath Durand tied a career-high with 3.1 innings pitched and did not allow a run in relief of Evan Challenger. Durand picked up his first win of the season after holding the Buccaneers to three hits and a walk.

Georgia Southern, who has fallen below .500 only twice this season, sits three games above .500.

Chase Griffin is averaging an RBI a game (1.00) and leads the team in that category with 45.
Justin Hess is averaging 11.1 strikeouts per nine innings and has totaled a team-best 57 punch outs in 47.1 innings this season.
