Sarah Purvis Earns NFCA All-Region Honors

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – For the second-straight season, Sarah Purvis has been selected to the NFCA All-Region Team after performances in the pitching circle. The two-time defending SoCon Pitcher of the Year led the Eagles to a repeat trip to the NCAA Tournament this season. The Eagles open the 2013 NCAA Tournament on Friday afternoon against USF at 3:30 p.m.
Purvis had an outstanding SoCon Tournament run, winning three games including the title game on Saturday. She set a new career high with 11 innings against the Spartans and ranks second in the SoCon with 194 strikeouts. With the extended performance, Purvis dropped her season ERA to 1.96 on the year.
