- Georgia Southern is back on the road to face South Carolina State for the first time in series history despite the schools being just 98 miles apart.
- Jelani Hewitt enters the SCSU game as the defending SoCon Player of the Week after averaging 27.7 ppg in three contests last weekend ... Hewitt capped the week with 38 points last Saturday night against Campbell ... He also had 11 rebounds for his first career double-double.
- Hewitt was also named SoCon Player of the Month for November 2013, averaging 24.5 ppg in the opening month of the season.
- Hewitt leads the Southern Conference in scoring and ranks seventh nationally with 24.7 ppg ... Hewitt has gone over 20 points in scoring for seven of the nine games this season.
