- Just two days after the Eagles picked up their second-straight home victory, Georgia Southern travels to face Georgia State in Atlanta ... The Eagles are 39-13 all-time against the Panthers and are 2-4 against State since the Eagles left the TAAC after the 1991-92 season.
- Jelani Hewitt enters the Georgia State game as the leading scorer in the Southern Conference with 21.4 ppg and ranks 16th in scoring nationwide ... He recently scored 38 points against Campbell and has twice been named SoCon Player of the Week ... Hewitt was held to his lowest scoring of the season with 8 points on Sunday night at UAB ... He has scored in double figures 11 of 12 games this season and has gone over 20 points in scoring for seven of the 12 games this year.
- Hewitt was also named SoCon Player of the Month for November 2013, averaging 24.5 ppg in the opening month of the season.
- Tre Bussey ranks second in scoring for the Eagles, but is one of the leading shooters on the team from downtown with a 41.5% mark ... Overall, he has 18.9 ppg to rank third in the SoCon ... He has scored over 20 points in seven of the 12 games this season.
